The ground rules for using Wisp — a private notebook for the moments you would rather get right next time.

In short

Wisp is a personal notebook. It helps you record and revisit your own experience. It is not a professional service.
What you write belongs to you. Your entries stay on your device and we never claim ownership of them.
Use it sensibly. Do not rely on Wisp where a qualified professional is what you actually need.

01Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of the Wisp application and any updates we release for it. By downloading, installing or using Wisp, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.

If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the app. If you are using Wisp on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on their behalf.

02What Wisp is

Wisp is a private notebook for recording mistakes you have made in your relationships and interactions, classifying them, and revisiting them over time so that similar moments go better.

Wisp is a personal reflection tool. It is not a medical device, a mental health service, a counselling service, or a source of legal, financial or professional advice.

Not for emergencies. Wisp is not designed for urgent situations. If you or someone else is in danger, contact the appropriate emergency service in your area right away.

03Your notebook and your content

Everything you write in Wisp — your entries, your notes, any pictures you attach, and the way you classify them — is yours. We claim no ownership over it.

Your notebook is stored on the device where you created it. We do not operate an account system and we do not hold a copy.
You are responsible for what you record and for keeping your device secure.
Because the content lives on your device, removing the app removes your notebook with it.

You should not use Wisp to store information that you are legally prohibited from holding, or that you do not have the right to keep.

04Acceptable use

We want Wisp to stay a calm, useful place. When using it, you agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law expressly permits it.
Modify, resell, sublicense or redistribute the app or any part of it.
Interfere with the app's normal operation.
Use the app in a way that breaks any law that applies to you.

05Our content

The Wisp name, its mark, its interface, its written content and the software behind it are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial purposes. This licence ends if you stop complying with these terms.

06No professional advice

The prompts, categories, reminders and insights in Wisp are designed to help you reflect. They are general in nature and are not tailored to your circumstances.

Nothing in the app constitutes professional advice of any kind, and you should not treat it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

07Availability and changes to the app

We work to keep Wisp running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may add, change or remove features, and we may release updates that alter how the app behaves.

If we ever discontinue the app, the entries already stored on your device remain readable there until you remove them.

08Disclaimer of warranties

Wisp is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any content you store in it will always be recoverable. You use the app at your own discretion and risk.

09Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunities, arising out of or connected with your use of, or inability to use, Wisp — even if we have been advised that such damage is possible. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10Ending your use

You may stop using Wisp at any time. Removing the app from your device ends this agreement and deletes the notebook stored on that device.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or use the app in a way that harms the app, other people, or us.

11Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add a feature or when the law changes. When we do, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this document.

Continuing to use Wisp after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree with a change, you are free to stop using the app.
